About Victory Sanctuary

A special kind of Adventist church.

A church determined to transform lives and change destinies through the power of the Word, in Lekki and across Nigeria.

The difference is not the size of the building or the number of people. It goes beyond programmes and production to the essence of this church.

Together, we strive to be the kind of church described in the Bible: a church with relevant teaching, heartfelt worship, honest friendships, constant prayer and compassionate care for those in need.

We are building the kind of contagious Christianity that can influence and encourage our whole community, one life at a time.

Our story

From a rented hall to a sanctuary. It was not first conceived as a church. It began as a movement to share a message of hope.

  1. 1999

The “Walking in His Will” crusade at King’s College Hall, Victoria Island, with Dr Kenneth Mulzac of Huntsville, Alabama. Guests stand in the foyers.

  2. July 1999

The new fellowship moves to NUJ House, Victoria Island. On 24 July it is inaugurated as a Seventh-day Adventist company, with Pastor Bukola Ajide as its head.

  3. March 2000

Our present site in Lekki is acquired. The land is dedicated and the cornerstone set at an early-morning prayer meeting.

  4. 2001

The auditorium is roofed by August, a lone pioneer on waterlogged land, built by members’ freewill offerings. The Bible school begins.

  5. 2003

The first Bible school class graduates, and the first Victory Believers Convention brings the family together.

  6. Today

40 outreaches, 35 across Nigeria and 5 beyond, and more than 200 Bible school graduates.

  7. 2030

Vision 2030: two million brethren, 60,000 lay pastors, 10,000 new outreaches and 250,000 church workers.

  • Worship

    Glorifying God together.

  • Fellowship

    Growing as one family.

    Reaching the unchurched with hope.

Growing in Christ through the Word.

Heads of department, elders and officers serve alongside our pastors.

Rooted in the Bible, we emphasise healthy, balanced living while serving others and sharing the message of God's love and salvation. We hold the 28 fundamental beliefs of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and they shape our faith and practice.

Faithful in all things.

Faithful tithing and sincere Sabbath-keeping are at the heart of our life together. Tithes are faithfully remitted to the West Nigeria Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and our accounts are audited every year by professional accountants.

Vision 2030

Turning rivers into seas.

Born from Matthew 28:19, Vision 2030 is the church growth initiative of Victory Sanctuary and her outreaches: to win two million members for Christ in Nigeria, reach young professionals with the Advent message, and prepare them to be God-fearing leaders in business, finance and public life.
