How Victory Sanctuary looks after the information you share with us through this website, in plain words.

Who we are

This website belongs to Victory Sanctuary Seventh-day Adventist Church, 3 Hunponu Wusu Street, off Hakeem Dickson Link Road, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos. We are responsible for the personal information you share with us here, under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.

We only ask for what we need to pray with you, welcome you and stay in touch. We never sell your information, and we don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.

What we collect, and why

  • Prayer requestsYour request, and your name if you give it. We use it so our pastors and prayer team can pray with you. If you tick “Keep this private to the pastors”, only the pastors see it.
  • “I’m interested” messagesYour name, your phone number or email, the ministries you chose and anything you add. We use it so a pastor or ministry leader can contact you about the next step you asked for.
  • Seven Steps to Absolute VictoryIf you send your answers online, we receive your name, how to reach you and your answers, so a teacher can follow up with you.
  • GivingBank transfers go straight to the church’s bank accounts. When online giving is available, it is handled by ChurchPlus and its payment partners; we never see or store your card details.
  • VideosServices and lessons play through YouTube, and some Sabbath School videos load from the Sabbath School website (Adventech). When you play a video, those services may record that you watched it, under their own privacy policies. Where we can, we use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode.
  • Settings on your deviceWe remember whether you chose light or dark appearance, and whether you closed the weekly Sabbath School reminder. This is kept in your own browser, not sent to us, and you can clear it at any time.
  • VisitsLike every website, our host keeps short technical logs, such as your device’s internet address and browser, to keep the site secure and working. We don’t use them to identify you.

Who sees it

Only the pastors and the members of our team who need it to pray, follow up or answer you. Messages are stored securely in the church’s website system, and a copy is sent to the church’s email.

We use a few trusted services to run the website:

  • Vercel, which hosts the website and stores its messages
  • Google, for the church’s email and YouTube
  • FormSubmit, which delivers website messages to the church’s email
  • ChurchPlus, for online giving

Some of these services keep data outside Nigeria. We only use services that protect it, and we never let them use your information for their own purposes. We will share information with others only if the law requires it, or to protect someone from harm.

How long we keep it

Prayer requests and “I’m interested” messages are deleted from the website system 12 months after you send them, or sooner if you ask. Seven Steps answers are kept while you are studying with us and for up to a year after. Giving records are kept as long as the law and our church’s accounting rules require.

You can ask us at any time to:

  • tell you what information we hold about you
  • correct it, or delete it
  • stop using it, or withdraw a consent you gave
